John Fox Jr. Literary Festival

The John Fox Jr. Literary festival is an annual event supported by the MECC Foundation’s Cultural & Humanities Committee.  The event brings two published authors to the MECC campus each spring to present public lectures, readings, and discussion.  Featured authors have included Clyde Edgerton, Sharyn McCrumb, Silas House, and Sharon Hatfield.  Spring 2016 will mark the 40th annual Festival.

Living Legends Series

MECC’s Living Legends Series is an annual event that is held in recognition of Veteran’s Day.  The MECC Foundation supports the cost of the public event, which typically includes a guest speaker and related exhibitions.  The 2014 Living Legends speaker was Edgar Herrell, WWII veteran and survivor of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis in 1945.
