The Mountain Empire Community College Foundation and the Lee County Endowed Scholarship Committee are leading an effort to assist students in Lee County by providing scholarships

to attend Mountain Empire Community College.

Currently there are no endowed scholarships dedicated for Lee High and Thomas Walker graduates at MECC. The Lee County Endowed Scholarship Committee was formed by residents interested in making a difference in their community by raising funds to endow a scholarship that will help students from now into the future.

The group has started a GoFundMe account and has raised several thousands of dollars so far. There is an anonymous pledge to match any donations received up to  $30,000. Donations can be made at www.meccfoundation.org/lee-county-endowed-scholarship/.

The MECC Foundation and the Lee County Endowed Scholarship committee will host a special fundraising event on Thursday, September 27 featuring internationally-renowned cellist Dave Eggar at the Lee High Theater. All proceeds will benefit the Lee County Endowed Scholarship fund. We are currently seeking sponsorships to help assist with the cost of entertainment. Sponsorships can include the following options:
